GRINDING

INTERNAL GRINDING

Especially very small holes and therefore grinding quills with small diameters pose the highest requirements for maximum speed and stiffness. GMN offers for all internal grinding machining a uniquely broad range of high-frequency grinding spindles for manual (such as UHS, HS, HV-X and HSX series) and for automatic tool change (such as HC and HCS series), as well as grinding spindles for other drives (such as TSA, TSI and TSP series). In addition, helpful options (such as coolant supplied through the spindle shaft) and various sensors (such as speed sensors, vibration monitoring, A/E sensors) are offered.

EXTERNAL GRINDING

GMN grinding spindles for external grinding (such as TSAV and TSEV series) are characterized by their high load capacity. These spindles are available for external drives (such as using belts) or with installed or integrated motors (such as the HGS, HGC and HGT series).

MILLING

TOOL AND DIE MANUFACTURING

Spindles for these applications (such as the HC and HCS series) provide the highest precision at very high speed for sometimes micro-precise manufacturing results. GMN offers milling spindle types at various speed and performance levels. A unique and great benefit is the preferred use of our own-manufactured UP quality high-precision ball bearings (better than P2). These spindles are also offered with optional sensors to compensate for shaft growth in the process.

AVIATION

It is important to master operating parameters within the limits of technical possibilities in high-performance aluminum machining. GMN is one of the technology leaders in this area, and is able to offer reliable and robust milling spindles for machining performance of up to 15 L/min. The design of the bearing is extremely important for sometimes extremely high loads when machining titanium and other materials which are difficult to process. Here ist pays out to use our mostly own-manufactured high-precision ball bearings. GMN also offers compact and high-performance milling spindles for special applications which are designed for use in 5-axis milling heads (such as the HCS series).

DRILLING

DEEP-HOLE DRILLING

High speed, outstanding circular accuracy and high load capacity in the axial direction, as well as the optional high-pressure coolant feed through the shaft (100 to 200 bar) are our spindle characteristics for this application. GMN has the optimal solution for this with its products – used as drilling spindle (such as HV-P, HSP and TSE series).

ROTARY INDEX MACHINES

Spindles which can be deployed flexibly for manual tool change, motor or external-driven, are used here (such as the HSP, HSP…g, HV-P, TSE and TS series). Also versions for automatic tool change (such as the HCS and HGC series), with or without high-pressure rotary designs for coolant feed through the spindle shaft. Depending upon the deployment or application with very different tool interfaces: HSK, clamping holders or special interfaces as per customer specifications.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS

ELECTRICAL MACHINES

TEST STAND MOTORS/ALTERNATORS: Specially-developed GMN test stand motors, for example to test air and space components, are used to meet the highest requirements for performance, torque and RPM. GMN generators prove their worth when it comes to transforming existing or previously unused energy in the form of, for example, water vapor or escaping process gas, into electrical energy. These generators are characterized by their very high efficiency factor, and are among others used in ORC systems, in mobile energy production or energy recycling systems – even in critical environmental conditions.
